The virtue of seeking to resolve conflict had been advised by our beloved Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. in several Hadiths. The following are among the Hadiths dealing with this matter:

From Ummi Darda’ r.a., Rasulullah S.A.W. said: “Do you need to know one honourable act that is better than fasting, prayer  and charity?” They answered: “We shall be only too pleased to know it, O Rasulullah.”  Rasulullah said: “Reconcile those who quarrel! Creating conflict is an act of inviting disaster.”                                                                                     ( Hadith narrated by Al-Asbihani)

From Abi Ayyub who said, Rasulullah S.A.W. said: “Oh Abi Ayyub, do you want me to tell you of a charity which pleases Allah and His Messenger ?” Abi Ayyub replied: “Indeed yes, O Rasulullah..” Rasulullah S.A.W. then said: “Reconcile men who are in enmity and in mutual hatred.”                                  (Hadith narrated by Al-Tabrani)

From Anas r.a., from Rasulullah S.A.W. who said:“ Whoever reconcile mankind, Allah shall enlighten his affairs. For him is a reward as big as the reward for freeing a slave for each word uttered by him, and Allah forgives all his past mistakes.”                                                                   (Hadith narrated by Al-Asbihani)
